After the disappointment of the crowds at Fushimi-Inari, we took the train on the same line and pushed a little further south, to Uji. Great idea, Uji is a lovely neighbourhood, the Uji temple is a wonderful site and we were able to enjoy it peacefully, taking our time. The day was saved!
